According to reports, the Mexican auto supplier Metalsa SA de CV announced that it is not engaged in talks with Tata Motors Ltd about making Tata vehicles in Mexico.
Moreover, the Mint, a national business daily newspaper in India, reported that Metalsa, a unit of privately held Mexican corporation Grupo Proeza, was in talks with Tata about building cars in Mexico.
In the meantime, the newspaper cited two unidentified sources.
Moreover, Metalsa supplies components, like body stampings and chassis frames for commercial vehicles and has a presence in 10 nations, including India.
While talking to reporters, a spokesperson from Metalsa said, “The company supplies components for Tata, but is not planning to manufacture cars in alliance with Tata in Mexico, or elsewhere.”
However, the company said in a statement that it expects to continue its current business model now and in the future.
