Marriott International has recently announced that it has inked a new agreement with Pulso Hotelero of Mexico for 36 new Fairfield Inns to triple the number of properties in Marriott’s Mexican portfolio.
The company, which has its head quarter in Bethesda, said that the deal is part of a wider expansion outside the United States. The company also stated that the third of its hotels under development are outside the United States.
According to the long-term license agreement, 36 hotels to be constructed will run under log-term franchise deal. The hotels are planned to open in next 10 years. However, the first two planned for a 2011 opening are in Cabo San Lucas and Guadulajara.
At present, the company has 17 hotels in Mexico in its portfolio.
Meanwhile, Marriott owns and operates hotels as well as motels under brands like the Ritz-Carlton, Courtyard by Marriott, Residence Inn and many more.
