There is tough competition between Miss Puerto Rico and Miss Mexico in Miss World 2009 contest.

But according to the Manila Bulletin, observers stated that both the candidates continue to switch ranks either No. 1 or No. 2 on a daily basic based on bettors’ lists.

Meanwhile, reports said that Miss Puerto Rico appears to be the most favored with even odds at most online betting set-ups, including BetUS. com, which ranked Miss Puerto Rico, Jennifer Colon, as a near even odds favorite (paying around US$11.50 for every US$10.00 bet).

On the other hand, Perla Beltran Acosta, Miss Mexico, would pay out much more - US25 for every US$10 bet.

While talking to reporters, Miss Mexico said, “If I win the Miss World title, I want to make people aware of how much technology is affecting our climate. I want to discover a method to make the world a better place by alleviating global warming.”

Miss Mexico has recently obtained a university degree in engineering and her objective is to become a successful businesswoman.

The Miss World 2009 show will be shown live in most countries.
