Spain’s Iberia Airlines is forced to cancel 440 flights because of a two-day long strike called by cabin crews over pay dispute.
According to the statement issued by the Iberia Airline on its website, the 48-hour stoppage starting midnight Sunday will affect domestic, European and trans-Atlantic flights, and part of Iberia flights.
The strike has been called by labour union including around 4,300 staff members, who aim to end a four-year pay freeze. According to them, other Iberia employees including pilots are received increased wages.
The workers are also planning to hold the strike on November 10 and 11 as well.
However, Iberia has also said that the affected passengers will be entitled to refund or tickets on other days.
Meanwhile, the management criticized labour unions for holding the strikes over pay dispute at a time when the aviation sector was so badly hit by the international economic crisis.
