Mexican authorities arrested four persons accused of murdering marine's family

Mexican authorities of eastern province of Tabasco have arrested four persons under the charges of being involved in the murdering of four members of a marine’s family, who had died last week during a high profile drug bust.

The state's attorney Rafael Gonzalez Lastra, in a press conference on Wednesday, said that the persons arrested were the members of "Zetas", which is an armed wing of drug trafficking organization, the Gulf Cartel.

Lastra said that the people responsible for the “bloody event” would not be forgiven. The cops had arrested two gunmen on Tuesday night during their search in a famous hotel of Tabasco's capital Villahermosa.

Lastra added that more arrests could be seen in the near future.

On Monday night, some gunmen had killed four members of marine Melquisidic Angulo Cordova’s family. The killing was considered as revenge to the marine's involvement in the encounter of Arturo Beltran Leyva, Mexico's third most wanted man.

Mexico's President Felipe Calderon, on Tuesday, criticized the killings. He said that these inhuman activities clearly show the lack of principles in the drug traffickers.

In 2009, about 6,300 people have lost their life in violence related to criminal activities.
